30 Things to Eat and Drink in a Good Quality Tavern

PCs seemingly spend much of their downtime between adventures in taverns and inns. Here they relax, meet contacts and (probably) get into the occasional brawl. However, most modules and supplements provide surprisingly little detail on what such establishments actually serve.

Use the tables below to add depth and flavour (did you see what I did there?) to the inns and taverns the PCs visit during their adventures.


Use the table below, to generate details of the food on offer at the tavern:

  1. Mutton in a creamy almond sauce with a mixed green salad
  2. Steak and mushroom pie with green beans
  3. Honey glazed ham with cheesy potatoes and peas
  4. Lamb chops with redcurrant sauce, swede and leeks
  5. Roasted quail in a nest of rice and peas
  6. Spiced goat with apple and raisin oatcakes
  7. Pork medallions with apricots, almonds and cracked wheat pilaf
  8. Mushroom soup with good sausage and butter beans
  9. Salmon with peas, mushrooms and carrots
  10. Beef stew with roasted chickpeas and kale

House Specialties
